What I Hope to Share
Connecting with others, Problem Solving, and identifying solutions to some of the challenges we face in life. I want help others live a life they love and love the life they live. I enjoy the Outdoors, Traveling, Skating, Hiking, Bike Riding, and I love, love, love the Beach! I also love fine dining and Retail Therapy (Shopping). One of my favorite things of all time is See's Candy (Milk Chocolate Bordeaux), Actually part of my Wellness Plan when I experienced Severe Depression. It is my hope that I can be Supportive of your goals, and together we can learn, while on this amazing recovery and healing journey. I needed to learn how to navigate through some of life's toughest challenges. When family, friends, and my Partner did not understand that I was not "Crazy, " and anyone could experience Mental Health Challenges. I decided to break the Stigma surrounding Mental Health. I had to first Advocate for myself. This was a very difficult task as I did not have the support that I felt that I needed, and culturally, my community was not very receptive of going to Therapy or even talking about Mental Health. Through a lot of pain, I made the choice to seek the resources necessary to Overcome many Traumas and turn that pain into Passion. I have lived experience that led to my Certification as a Peer Support Specialist. I have a passion for helping others thrive because at my lowest points in life, it was imperative that I sought Community and Support, which was not always easy. Based on my own personal life experiences, I have worked with others experiencing Severe Mental Health Challenges such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Substance Use Disorder, and Grief, through providing Mental Health Services and Resources to Diverse Populations. I have worked within the following Communities: AAPI, LGBTQ, BIPOC, Veterans, Older Adults, and Caregivers. I have also worked with Transitional Age Youth, Diversion and Re-Entry Programs, and Adult Day Health Care Facilities working in the Mental Health Field for over 5 years.
What Brought Me to ShareWell
I was called to help others because I know the importance of a Supportive Community and Network. When I was in my darkest moments in life, I felt like I had nobody there. I don't want anyone else to feel like they don't have a Support System, or a Listening Ear. I wanted to stretch my reach beyond my City and State, as I have been very successful and impactful while helping others in my community. I want to strengthen my network and my connections as well and have a meaningful impact in the world.
