Doctorsantoshluna
(He/him)
I bring lived experience with addiction and psychiatric practice both — 23 years in clinical medicine, the last several years as a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry across the NHS and private practice in England. I’m 18 years sober from opioids and 7 months sober from alcohol. I know both sides of this: the clinical side and the personal one. I’ve also lost my mother, father, brother, and sister, so I know grief and darkness intimately. I believe in something larger than us, without needing to put a label on it. I’m here to listen, not diagnose — to share what’s helped me and help you carry what you’re carrying, one step at a time. Specialties Addiction Recovery • Opioid Recovery • Alcohol Recovery • Grief & Loss • Psychiatry-Informed Support • Mental Health • Peer Worker Support • Life Skills My Recovery Story My recovery hasn’t been a straight line either — even with 23 years treating others, I’ve walked my own path through addiction and back. 18 years free from opioids, and more recently, working through alcohol too. I know what it’s like to sit on both sides of the consultation room…

"There's a new Addiction group on Sharewell! We started small but connected like old friends because of all we have in common. I see great things in store for this group."

About
Providing Support For
What I Hope to Share
I hope to contribute both sides of this — the clinical understanding from 23 years in medicine and psychiatry, and the lived experience of 18 years sober from opioids and 7 months sober from alcohol. I know what it's like to be in the room as the doctor, and what it's like to be the one who needed help. I want to offer people a space where they don't have to explain themselves twice. What I hope to gain is connection — the kind that doesn't come from a consultation room. Hosting these groups keeps me honest about my own recovery, and every person who shows up teaches me something I couldn't have learned any other way.
What Brought Me to ShareWell
I came to ShareWell to be the person I never had when I started using drugs — someone who understood without judging, who’d been in the dark himself and could sit with me in it rather than talk down to me from outside it. 23 years of treating patients taught me the clinical side of addiction and psychiatry. But 18 years sober from opioids and 7 months sober from alcohol taught me the rest — what it actually costs, and what it takes to come back from it. I host these groups because connection is what got me through, and I want to be that for someone else.
